marketing trends: how seo can help you know your audience and have fun

THE SEO THIS IS NOT

This is NOT ABOUT businesses ranking for the keyword PEEPS®. Not gonna happen. SEO is not some mysterious techy thing - it is the LANGUAGE PEOPLE are using to search for stuff online. It is the language your potential customers are using to try and find you and the shit you do or sell. So in this instance we are not using SEO to write SEO findable copy for a video or social media posts. I genuinely don't even care if you use #peeps hashtags because there are billions of posts. This is about you talking to the people who already know you and follow you and sharing with them a little bit about who you are as a company or introducing them to people in your company in a fun, real and relevant way. So we are using SEO tools like Keywords Everywhere for ideas and an indicator to marketing trends and what is being talked about at the time.

Marketing trends - piggy backing on PEEPS culture

THIS MARKETING TREND IS NOT ABOUT GETTING A JILLION VIEWS ON SOCIAL

It is about a business being part of a trend that is happening. People buy people now more than ever and people care about who you are as a business and what you stand for. Period. We use to reserve that for nonprofits or enviro companies, but not anymore. Doesn't matter if you sell toothpicks or Tahoe trucks - inquiring minds want to know. So have some fun with products that year after year go bananas or pop off products or trends that are having a moment. The point is to show who you are, be creative, have fun. It shows up great. We can see it on your faces. And guess what? Makes doing marketing a crap ton more fun than executing one more blah blah we do this and blah blah we do that we we we all over yourself post.

WATCH MY TIKTOK VIDEO IDEA BLITZ

Yeah I'm spewing ideas about marketing with PEEPS® for 8 minutes... and that's the edited version. Get inspired for some peeptastic ideas. See how you could light a peep on fire as a legit marketing strategy. Cringe as I shake my PEEPS® martini with his cute little floating eyeballs over my laptop. I'm so not one of those kickass cocktail mixologists flooding TikTok FYPs these days. Or is it just that the TikTok algo knows me?

Below is the recipe ChatGPT wrote for me "PEEPS® Infused Cocktail". The first recipe she spit out had to be straight up from this couple's video (THIS IS WHY WE DRINK) here, "The Best Easter Cocktail: Lemon Drop Martini with Peeps"

CHATGPT PEEPS® RECIPE CONVERSATION

Here's a recipe for a fun and festive vodka cocktail using PEEPS® candy ingredients:

  • 2 oz vodka

  • 1 oz triple sec

  • 1 oz fresh lime juice

  • 1 oz simple syrup

  • 3-4 Peeps candies

  • Ice

  • Sugar for rimming the glass (optional)

  • Lime wheel for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  • Begin by rimming a cocktail glass with sugar, if desired.

  • In a cocktail shaker, combine the vodka, triple sec, lime juice, and simple syrup.

  • Add a handful of ice to the shaker and shake vigorously for 10-15 seconds.

  • Strain the cocktail into the rimmed glass filled with ice.

  • Garnish with a lime wheel and skewered Peeps candy on top of the glass.

  • Serve and enjoy!

  • Note: If you prefer a sweeter cocktail, you can add more simple syrup to taste. And be sure to use fresh lime juice for the best flavor.

I asked, how is the above recipe "peeps infused"?

You're right, my apologies for the confusion. The above recipe is not a PEEPS®-infused vodka cocktail; rather, it's a cocktail garnished with PEEPS® candy. If you're looking for a PEEPS®-infused cocktail, here's a recipe you can try:

PEEPS®-Infused Vodka Cocktail Recipe Ingredients:

  • 2 cups vodka

  • 10 Peeps candies (any color/flavor)

  • 1 cup lemon-lime soda

  • 1/2 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice

  • Ice

  • PEEPS® candies for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  • Begin by infusing the vodka with PEEPS®. In a large glass jar, combine the vodka and PEEPS® candies. Cover the jar tightly and shake well to combine. Let the mixture sit for at least 24 hours at room temperature.

  • After 24 hours, strain the vodka through a fine-mesh sieve to remove any candy bits.

  • In a cocktail shaker, combine 2 oz of the PEEPS®-infused vodka, lemon-lime soda, and lemon juice.

  • Add ice to the shaker and shake vigorously for 10-15 seconds.

  • Strain the cocktail into a glass filled with ice.

  • Garnish with a PEEPS® candy on a skewer, if desired.

  • Serve and enjoy!

DO NOT STEAL OR USE TRADEMARKED LOGOS

PEEPS® is a trademarked brand owned by Just Born Quality Confections and they are very clear and state, "Because our brand names, logos, and the PEEPS® shapes are registered trademarks of Just Born, Inc., we cannot authorize any use of them by third parties." Find all kind of fun at the brand website peepsandcompany.com.

MY FAVORITE MARKETING TREND

One of my favorite marketing trends is myself and other kickass marketers and content creators pulling back the current on SEO to demystify it, so business owners can rock their revenue and reach! Kiss scary tech myths bye bye and have focus on authentic, fun engagement with your audience. It's not about ranking for generic terms like "PEEPS®" or chasing massive views. Instead, it emphasizes using SEO tools to find relevant trends and language that connect with people who already follow and know your brand. The goal is to showcase your company’s personality, engage creatively, and have fun with marketing, all while being mindful of trademarks. It’s a call to break away from stale corporate messaging and embrace a more playful, human approach. Now, kickass.
